Angelina Baldoz's distinctive trumpet playing has been presented in collaboration with many wonderful musicians and lovely dancers, such as Lori Goldston, Ellen Fullman, Paul Hoskin, Mark Collins, Jessie Canterbury, Susie Kozawa, Jack Wright, Tari Nelson-Zagar, Deborah Hay, Kristin Hapke, Margit Galanter, Morgan Thorson, and most recently John Bain and the Mutant Data Orchestra. She performs in numerous venues and never fails to fully explore the sonic cracks and niches in every room. She has taught and played for dance/music improvisation classes with Margit Galanter and Kristin Hapke. Currently she is working with dancer/chorographer Kristin Hapke as an improv duo. She also is proud to be involved in the "Music/Sound Score" presentation of Deborah Hay's "Music" score adapted by the beautiful dancers Amelia Weeber and Amy Windecker.
Sean Meehan uses only the snare drum in a manner that sheds conventional usage and reconstructs the conception and function of the instrument. Most notably, Meehan has created ways to acoustically sustain tones from the drum most noted as a marching instrument. From low-end rumbles to piercing sheets of sound, using simple implements like dowels and forks, Meehan provides beds of sound, drones, and melodies. For the past two years Meehan has been performing primarily in outdoor urban areas which are psychogeographically favorable. His interest in improvisation and collaboration has taken him around the world, where he has performed solo and with other artists ranging from traditional instrumentalists to avant-garde flower arrangers. Recordings include a CD of solo drum pieces (1991, New York City Artists Collective) and a trio recorded in Japan with Mamoru Fujieda playing computer and Michihiro Sato playing shamisen (1994, trust). Additionally, a duet CD with Sachiko M will be released November 1, 2002.
